At Paxton Academy, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our school community, including pupils, staff, parents and carers.
We know that our mental health and wellbeing is as important as our physical health. We know that mental health is something that can ebb and flow and at times anyone may need additional support.
Positive mental health is everybody’s business and we all have a role to play.
Working in Partnership Newsletter
Each term we produce a newsletter which keeps parents and families up to date with ways we support Mental Health at Paxton
Paxton Academy is supported by The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) who work within schools in Croydon to provide an additional source of support to children/young people and their families. The scheme developed by the Department of Education and the NHS aims at boosting wellbeing and emotional health within whole school communities.
MHST at Paxton Academy offer support through a number of ways including a confidential and non-judgemental space for children to explore difficulties, 1:1 sessions and workshops for parents to help them to support their children and support for staff in keeping wellbeing and emotional health at the heart of school life.
