Attendance

Attendance has a high profile at Paxton. It not only safeguards children but ensures that they are receiving the education they deserve. In order to help achieve this, staff form relationships built upon trust and work closely with families to support and improve attendance.

Rigorous daily and systematic weekly monitoring of attendance provides an accurate account of percentages across the school. Our Traffic Light system provides effective weekly tracking in an engaging way of reporting to parents through half termly letters and in termly reports.

Each term, families receive a traffic light letter which highlights their child’s attendance.

Attendance and Arbor

To help us work together, if your child is ill, please inform us using the link on the Arbor app to inform us on the first day and every day which follows until they return.

If your child needs to attend an appointment, please make sure you inform us before they attend and provide us with any letters or correspondence.

Time lost in learning

Please help your child to be punctual. Being late every day can add up to a lot of lost learning time If you are late every day that adds up across the school year.

Every school day counts! Don’t let your child miss out on the education they deserve. There is a total of 190 school days in each year and 175 days to be spent with family, on holiday, going shopping and attending appointments.
